Drilling-Grade Barium Sulphate Weighting Agent — Certified to API Specification 13A
PIME supplies API 13A drilling-grade barite sourced from audited producers in Andhra Pradesh, India — home to one of the world's largest barite deposits. Every shipment carries a Certificate of Analysis against the API 13A test protocol, with third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek) available on request.

Standard drilling-grade barite meeting the full API Specification 13A test protocol for oil & gas drilling fluids.
The 4.10 SG drilling grade recognised under API 13A, where the buyer's mud program permits — typically at a sharper price point.
Fine-ground barytes for paints, coatings, rubber and plastics — high brightness, chemically inert, excellent density.
Particle-size distributions ground to your specification for radiation shielding, friction materials and specialty uses.
Every batch is tested against the API 13A protocol and ships with a Certificate of Analysis. Third-party pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek is available on request.
India is the world's largest barite exporter, and our audited producers draw on the Andhra Pradesh deposits that already supply drilling operations across the US Gulf, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
FOB Indian port, CIF your destination port, or delivered from Australian warehouse stock — FCL, LCL and project-scale volumes, with evaluation samples available for laboratory bench testing.
API Specification 13A defines the physical and chemical requirements for drilling-fluid barite: minimum specific gravity, limits on water-soluble alkaline earth metals, and particle-size distribution (residue above 75 µm and fines below 6 µm). PIME supplies material tested against this protocol, with results stated on the Certificate of Analysis accompanying each shipment.
API 13A recognises both grades. SG 4.20 is the traditional standard; SG 4.10 was introduced as global ore grades evolved and is accepted in many mud programs at a lower cost per tonne. Your mud engineer's weighting calculations determine which grade suits the well plan — we supply both.
Yes. We provide evaluation samples for your laboratory's API 13A bench testing, followed by a trial consignment before any recurring supply program. Reference lab reports are published openly on our Lab Reports page.
Approximately 30–45 days FOB Indian port, or 50–65 days CIF to Australian east-coast ports, depending on sailing schedules. For time-critical drilling programs we can discuss holding stock in an Australian warehouse.
A current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is supplied with every consignment and is available on request. Barite dust is a nuisance dust; natural barite ores may contain trace crystalline silica. Workers should follow Safe Work Australia guidance, use appropriate PPE, and implement dust-control measures in line with the Work Health and Safety Regulations.
